Introduction to MIM working groups

The objective is to provide at least a minimum of information covering the most critical issues of our time. The available knowledge and experience should be made easily accessible for all members of the association.

This chapter is just starting. It is intended to support the activities of specialized working groups. The approach is to maintain a kind of "Who is Who" list. We want to know where expertise is available in Belgium. Virtual Working Groups do not need to have many physical meetings, but are expected to maintain web pages showing comprehensive overviews of their specific areas.

These VWG are invited to keep all the other members of the MIM informed of ongoing activities. They will also be asked to present their work for discussion, on some occasions, at least once every 3 years. This could be organized as sessions during the yearly MIC congress, or maybe as simple evening conferences.

Volunteers are welcome to coordinate new working groups and to provide information in dedicated web pages referred from this chapter. Proposals will be submitted to the board of the MIM.

The application of informatics in healthcare may include a very broad range of objectives.
Keep in mind that the ultimate goals of all our activities should be "citizen oriented" (Jean-Claude Healy and Ilias Iakovidis / DG XIII / EU).
